A girl. Her dog. And books...lots of books.

Out - Natsuo Kirino, Stephen Snyder I was so excited about reading Out when I first heard about it I think I built up some unrealistic expectations about it. The plot itself was very good and very well thought out by Kirino but I found the reading quite laborious and whenever I put the book down I found that it took quite a lot of energy to want to start reading it again. I don't know if it is just the fact that it has been translated into another language or if that is Kirino's writing style.

Kirino painted quite a creepy picture of working class Japan that I found enthralling. The plot and cultural aspect of the novel get a 5/5 from me, but the writing brought it down.
